Equity benchmarks gained marginally in the opening trade. The market turned volatile following mixed Asian cues. It seemed that the market has priced in all positive US and European cues in previous sessions; now it is eyeing for Barack Obama speech to be held today.

Jai Bala, chief market technician of cashthechaos.com said, this is a bear market and hence, it is likely to see further dips. He warns that the market may see more upside in the short-term, but it should not be interpreted as a fresh uptrend as global cues are still weak.
